The Truth of the Actor and the Human Being

A well-trained actor knows who they are, through deep self-knowledge and uses that wisdom to create a character which moves the audience and impacts their perceptions forever.

An enlightened human being knows who they are, that their true essence is infinite and uses that wisdom to create a life which impacts the world and changes perception forever.

How do an actor and human being do this?

It is done with this common purpose; the responsibility for knowing who they are and utilizing that wisdom to create the role of a lifetime.

Fear based thoughts and emotions are an indication that we have forgotten our true identity and have mistakenly identified with something we are not. Like an actor gone mad in a play who becomes delusional that he is the character, we get lost in the world and falsely believe that we are our name, our role, our gender, our job, our relationship status, our mistakes, our successes, our feelings and thoughts.

We must return to our truth which is our true identity as infinite beings here to assume a role for this lifetime. Like a well-trained actor, we know we are infinite at our essence and use that knowledge to play our role at the highest caliber possible.

In a stage production, just like in life, there are starring roles, supporting roles and minor roles. In the world, everyone has different levels of recognition. Some may only have small recognition within their immediate family and others are on the global stage. Just as in a well executed play, the whole can only be as good as the sum of its parts. An excellent actor in a lead character role will fall flat and seem out of place positioned next to amateur, directionless supporting characters.

No matter the role we play in this lifetime, no matter the size of our part, we are all significant to the success of this world, to the creation of a world that has meaning, impact and changes perceptions forever.

As an actor is aware of their self beyond their character, we human beings can be conscious of our true identity beyond the physical form of this world. This frees us from the fear of loss or shame as we know we are more than what we appear to be. Now we can engage in the world deeply and with as much commitment as we want because we know who we are and know that our essence is beyond the reaches of time and space.

We are infinite, free beings at our core and nothing on this planet can blind us to that truth except ourselves if we engage in negative, self-limiting beliefs.

Our self-knowledge of infiniteness is so freeing that we can dive into all the activities of life; the challenges as well as the blessings with enthusiasm, excitement and honesty. As actors in a play, we participate fully in all the situations we are faced with; beginnings, endings, storyline, drama, climax, loss, redemption, second chances; with the consciousness that we are truly not this character, but are using the infinite quality that we truly are, to master this character.

Our purpose is self-knowledge beyond the ruminations of our mind and deep into the silent space where no words or thoughts can describe. We can touch this space either by chance or by meditation and introspection. Once the awareness opens, we will know it without question. We touch this place often enough and our identity shifts towards our true essence. Then this life experience will be like the experience of an actor as he prepares for and performs his role.

Creative, thrilling, joyful.

Let us live today from our true essence and be fearless when it comes to the world. Nothing can hurt us as long as we identify with our truth. Each situation we encounter is an opportunity to become master actors of our craft as we dig deeper within ourselves to discover we already have all we need to impact the world and broaden its perceptions.

With love,
